Exploring Real-World Solutions to Advance Die Casting Efficiency

To support continuous improvement in die casting operations, WITS Group organized a series of technical workshops across manufacturers in Indonesia. These workshops were held in collaboration with Mitra Metal Perkasa, Chemco Harapan Nusantara, and Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing, bringing together engineers, maintenance leaders, and production experts to exchange insights and practical knowledge

1. Mitra Metal Perkasa (MMP)

The first session of Workshop Day Copromec took place on April 30th, 2025, at Mitra Metal Perkasa (MMP), a leading aluminum die casting manufacturer and part of the Chemco Harapan Nusantara Group. Specializing in the production of automotive components for major two- and four-wheel vehicle brands in Indonesia—including Astra Honda Motor, Honda Prospect Motor, and Hino Trucks—MMP plays a vital role in the national automotive supply chain.

During the workshop, discussions centered around the importance of cost efficiency, with a strong emphasis on reducing tooling expenses and minimizing maintenance-related downtime. These themes align closely with MMP’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

2. Chemco Harapan Nusantara

The second session was held on May 20th, 2025, at Chemco Harapan Nusantara, and brought together representatives from both its Cikarang and Karawang facilities. Participants included casting engineers, the people development team, and the Chief of Technology, making the session rich in technical dialogue and cross-functional insights.

This workshop focused on knowledge-sharing across departments and highlighted the value of continuous skills development in line with advanced die casting technologies. Copromec’s solutions were presented as key enablers in enhancing process control, tool longevity, and casting quality.

3. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing

The final session of the Workshop Day Copromec series was conducted on June 18th, 2025, at Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (West Java). The session fostered an open exchange of technical insights related to die casting operations, with a particular focus on process improvement, handling practices, and component reliability.

YIMM West Java also expressed interest in exploring standardization opportunities—such as aligning inner cooling dimensions with existing benchmarks—to support more efficient setup procedures and ensure greater operational consistency moving forward.

Conclusion

Workshop Day Copromec is more than just a technical forum—it is a collaborative platform to align ideas, enhance engineering know-how, and co-create practical solutions for real-world manufacturing. Through this initiative, WITS Group strengthens its role not only as a technology provider but as a strategic partner in operational excellence. Moving forward, a series of future workshops will continue to be held with more partners and locations, serving as a consistent space for insight-sharing, product feedback, and continuous improvement grounded in real industrial needs
